Wild Encounters: Exploring the Wonders of Vandalur Zoo

Arignar Anna Zoological Park (AAZP), commonly known as Vandalur Zoo, is a renowned zoological garden situated in the southwestern part of Chennai. It holds the distinction of being India's first public zoo, with its establishment dating back to 1855.

Spanning across an extensive area of 1,490 acres, the park stands as the largest zoological park in the country. It offers a diverse range of wildlife and habitats for visitors to explore and appreciate.

For admission, the park charges an entry fee of 90 rupees for adults, while a separate fee of 25 rupees is applicable for those carrying a camera or Mobile.

If you choose to explore the zoo on foot, be prepared for a leisurely 5 to 6-hour adventure. Alternatively, bicycles are available for rent on an hourly basis, providing a convenient means of transportation within the park. Additionally, battery-operated vehicles can be rented to enhance your experience.

For more comprehensive information and a visual glimpse of the park, I recommend watching the accompanying video.
