If you’re looking for a unique and fun-filled destination in Kerala, Marine World Chavakkad should be on your list! Located near Panchavadi Beach in Thrissur district, this impressive attraction opened in 2021 and has quickly gained fame as India’s largest public aquarium. I recently visited this aquatic wonderland and was truly amazed by what it offers!
🌊 A World Beneath the Waves
Spread across 4 to 5 acres, Marine World houses over 300 species of marine life, totaling around 300,000 fishes. From colorful reef fish to exotic marine creatures, this place is perfect for families, kids, and anyone fascinated by the underwater world.
One of the main highlights is the underwater tunnel, which gives you a surreal feeling of walking right through the ocean. There’s also a stunning glass bridge and a cylinder aquarium, each offering unique views of marine biodiversity.
🎢 More Than Just an Aquarium
Marine World isn’t just about fish tanks. There’s something here for everyone:
-
A thrilling 16D cinema experience
-
A spooky Horror House
-
A vibrant Children’s Park
-
A fun Fish Catching Zone
-
And an Exotic Bird Park where you can spot colorful birds up close
If you enjoy bird sanctuaries, I’ve also explored Virgin Earth in Ooty, which is a must-visit. You can find the video linked in the description of my YouTube video!
💸 Entry Fees & Facilities
The entry fee is quite reasonable:
-
₹400 for adults
-
₹280 for children
There’s free parking near the aquarium, but if it’s full, you can use nearby Pay & Park services at ₹50 per car.
🐟 Know Your Fish
Throughout my video tour, I’ve mentioned the names of the fish species featured in various tanks. If I’ve missed any or if you spot something different, feel free to drop your suggestions in the comments—I’d love to keep the info as accurate as possible.
