La Mer Beach & City Walk Dubai – From Relaxing Beach Vibes to Vibrant City Lights

Dubai is known for its iconic skyscrapers, luxury shopping malls, and world-class attractions, but it also offers beautiful public spaces where visitors can relax and enjoy the city's modern lifestyle. During our visit, we explored two such destinations—La Mer Beach and City Walk Dubai. Together, they offer the perfect combination of a peaceful beachfront experience and a lively urban atmosphere.

La Mer Beach – A Relaxing Escape by the Arabian Gulf

Our journey began at La Mer Beach, located in the Jumeirah district of Dubai. This stylish beachfront destination quickly became one of Dubai's favorite leisure spots thanks to its colorful street art, palm-lined walkways, and beautiful views of the Arabian Gulf.

Walking along the promenade, we were greeted by vibrant murals, artistic installations, and plenty of open spaces overlooking the sea. The soft sandy beach and calm waters make La Mer an excellent destination for families, couples, and anyone looking to unwind by the coast.

Since we visited on a weekday evening, the beach was pleasantly peaceful. There were fewer visitors, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed walk while taking in the fresh sea breeze and scenic surroundings. As sunset approached, the sky turned into beautiful shades of orange and pink, creating a perfect backdrop for photography.

La Mer also features a variety of cafés and restaurants where visitors can enjoy delicious food while overlooking the beach. Whether you're interested in relaxing, taking photos, or simply enjoying the sunset, La Mer offers a refreshing break from Dubai's busy city life.

City Walk Dubai – A Modern Lifestyle Destination

After enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of La Mer Beach, we headed to City Walk Dubai, located just a short drive away.

City Walk is an open-air lifestyle destination that combines shopping, dining, entertainment, and contemporary architecture. Unlike traditional shopping malls, its wide pedestrian-friendly streets create a welcoming environment where visitors can explore at their own pace.

As we walked through City Walk, we admired the modern buildings, stylish storefronts, public art installations, and beautifully designed streets. The district is home to numerous international brands, cafés, and restaurants, making it one of the city's most popular places to spend an evening.

One of the major attractions here is The Green Planet, an indoor tropical rainforest that houses thousands of plants and animals. If you're interested in visiting it, we've already created a separate video covering the complete experience.

The Transformation After Sunset

One thing we noticed during our visit was how the atmosphere changes as evening turns into night.

Because we visited on a weekday evening, the crowd was relatively small, allowing us to explore comfortably. However, as darkness fell, City Walk gradually became much more lively. The decorative lighting illuminated the streets, restaurants became busier, and more visitors arrived to enjoy the pleasant evening weather.

The combination of modern architecture, outdoor seating, music, and city lights creates an energetic yet relaxing atmosphere that perfectly represents Dubai's vibrant nightlife.

Why You Should Visit

Both La Mer Beach and City Walk showcase different sides of Dubai.

La Mer offers a peaceful coastal escape where you can enjoy the beach, admire street art, and watch a spectacular sunset over the Arabian Gulf. City Walk, on the other hand, highlights Dubai's modern lifestyle with its elegant streets, shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

Visiting both destinations on the same evening is highly recommended. You can spend the late afternoon relaxing by the beach before heading to City Walk to experience its lively nighttime atmosphere.

If you're planning a trip to Dubai, adding both La Mer Beach and City Walk to your itinerary will give you a wonderful mix of nature, leisure, and contemporary city life.

Exploring The Green Planet Dubai – A Tropical Rainforest in the Heart of the Desert

Dubai is known for its towering skyscrapers, luxurious shopping malls, and vast desert landscapes. However, hidden within the bustling City Walk district is a completely different world—The Green Planet Dubai, an indoor tropical rainforest that brings nature and wildlife together under one roof.

During our visit to Dubai, we explored this unique attraction and were amazed by the incredible biodiversity and immersive rainforest experience it offers.

A Rainforest in the Middle of Dubai

The Green Planet is a massive bio-dome designed to replicate a tropical rainforest ecosystem. Home to more than 3,000 plants and animals, it provides visitors with an opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of a rainforest without leaving the city.

Even before entering the attraction, there is plenty to see. The outdoor area features beautiful gardens, animal and insect sculptures, children's play areas, and even tortoises that visitors can observe up close. The setting itself creates excitement for the adventure that awaits inside.

Beginning the Journey

Once inside, visitors are welcomed by aquariums displaying a variety of fish species. The exploration starts by taking an elevator to the fourth floor, from where guests gradually descend through the different levels of the rainforest.

The attraction also offers special animal encounters and feeding experiences, allowing visitors to interact more closely with some of the fascinating residents of the rainforest.

The Giant Tree – Heart of the Rainforest

One of the most impressive features of The Green Planet is the enormous artificial tree standing at the center of the bio-dome. Stretching several stories high, this massive structure serves as the heart of the ecosystem and supports the various levels of the rainforest.

The tree is visible from almost every part of the attraction and creates a stunning visual centerpiece for visitors.

Exploring the Four Levels

The Green Planet is divided into four rainforest layers:

Canopy

The journey begins in the Canopy, where colorful birds fly freely among the lush greenery. This level closely resembles the upper layer of a real rainforest and offers excellent opportunities to observe wildlife in a natural-looking environment.

Midstory

As visitors move down, they enter the Midstory, home to a variety of birds, reptiles, insects, and other rainforest creatures. Informative displays provide interesting facts about the species and their habitats.

Forest Floor

The Forest Floor recreates the lower section of the rainforest. Dense vegetation, natural sounds, and humid conditions make visitors feel as though they are walking through an actual tropical jungle.

Flooded Rainforest

The final section showcases aquatic life and demonstrates the importance of water ecosystems within tropical rainforests. Various fish and aquatic species can be observed in this fascinating environment.

Wildlife Encounters

One of the highlights of The Green Planet is the opportunity to see a wide range of animals up close. During our visit, we encountered colorful parrots, toucans, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, and many other rainforest species.

Among all the animals, the sloth was undoubtedly one of the most popular attractions. Watching this gentle creature slowly move through its habitat was a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.

Experiencing the Rainstorm

A particularly exciting part of our visit was experiencing the attraction's artificial rainforest rainstorm. Complete with rainfall and thunder effects, it adds another level of realism to the rainforest environment and helps visitors understand the climatic conditions found in tropical ecosystems.

The combination of lush greenery, wildlife sounds, and simulated weather effects creates a truly immersive experience.

More Than Just an Attraction

The Green Planet is not only an entertaining destination but also an educational one. Through interactive exhibits and informative displays, visitors learn about biodiversity, conservation, and the importance of protecting ecosystems around the world.

The attraction encourages environmental awareness and provides valuable insights into the delicate balance of nature.

Final Thoughts

The Green Planet Dubai offers a refreshing change from the city's modern skyline and desert scenery. Whether you are traveling with family, visiting Dubai for the first time, or simply have a passion for nature and wildlife, this indoor rainforest delivers an unforgettable experience.

From its towering artificial tree and diverse wildlife to its immersive rainforest atmosphere and educational exhibits, The Green Planet is one of Dubai's most unique attractions and a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

If you're planning a trip to Dubai, be sure to add The Green Planet to your itinerary—you might just forget you're in the middle of the desert!
